PSYCHOTHERAPY / TALK THERAPY

I utilize a variety of different treatments to help you identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. I will support you from a person-in-environment theory which means that I believe the way that a person interacts is influenced by their environment. I draw from the attachment theory in that it will help you discover how early emotional bonds with caregivers impact future relationships.

Some of the therapeutic approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which will assist you in changing maladaptive thinking patterns, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which is specifically adapted for people who feel emotions very intensely. DBT offers coping skills to regulate intense emotions. Above all, I will provide a supportive therapeutic environment and will non-judgmentally listen to your concerns and offer feedback as needed.
